At this 2019 edition 8 Asian countries are represented at Villegiature Awards last 2019 nominations.
China is by far the leader with 6 hotels nominated. China is clearly the most nominated destination in Asia with Swire Group’s Middle House in Shanghai handling 2 nominations for Hotel Architecture and Design with italian architect Piero Lissoni and also in Grand Prix Best Hotel in Asia. The Ritz Carlton Hong Kong has 2 nominations in Hotel Architecture and design with LTW Designworks and also in Grand Prix but in the Best Charming section.
Shangri La Lhasa terrace
In chinese Tibet facing the majestic impressive Potala stands the Shangri La Lhasa nominated in Best Hotel Architecture and Design. Portman Ritz Carlton Shanghai is nominated in Grand Prix Best Hotel in Asia as well as the Waldorf Astoria hotel Shanghai on the Bund and the well-known Island Shangri La Hong Kong. This means 4 chinese hotels are nominated in the coveted Grand Prix Best Hotel in Asia, the 2 other ones are the well-known Capitol Kempinski Hotel in Singapore and the Taj Lake palace Udaipur in India.
Singapore is the second most attractive destination area for the 2019 jury with Capitol Kempinski Hotel nominated in Grand Prix Best Hotel in Asia. The ParkRoyal on Pickering is nominated in Best Hotel Architecture and Design with architecture studio WOHA.
Amanpuri, Thailand – Villa Sala
After comes Thailand with Amanpuri iconic hotel from Aman nominated 3 times : for its Internet website, for its architecture and design as well as in Grand Prix of Best Charming Hotel in Asia. Japan with the fashionable Andaz Tokyo is nominated for its architecture and design managed by taiwanese star architect Tony CHI. Cambodia with Palace Gate Phnom Penh is nominated in Grand Prix Best Charming Hotel in Asia. India is – as stated above -nominated with Taj Lake Palace Udaipur in Grand Prix Best Hotel in India. Malaysia: The Golden Sands Resort by Shangri La is nominated in Grand Prix Best Charming Hotel in Asia. And finally in the Philippines the Shangri La Mactan Island Resort is shortlisted in Grand Prix Best Charming Hotel in Asia.

This 17th edition Villegiature Awards final winners in all categories on EMEA areas and in Asia will be announced next Oct. 14th in presence of major diplomats from all nominated countries along with the worldwide press at Château de Ferrières aside Paris, in France.
