The Villegiature Awards created in 2003 gather a voting Jury composed with international press correspondents and journalists from very famous medias covering all over the world. They reward the best of the best hotels in the world.
The next editions of VILLEGIATURE will take place every two years.

Paris, October 17th 2022
The VILLEGIATURE AWARDS celebrated their 20th anniversary on October 17th 2022 in the Official Residence of Her Excellency Mrs Blanca E. Jiménez Cisneros, Ambassador of Mexico and Monaco to France.
The balance between independent hotels and chain hotels is quite surprising: the intrinsic character of hotels are particularly representative of their countries.
- France receives six trophies. His culinary expression is triple rewarded with, in the categories “restaurant” the “Prince de Galles, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Chef Akira Back”, “breakfast”, “Le Domaine de la Tortinière, Veigné” and “bar”, “Le Domaine de la Klauss, Montenach, Head Barman Grégoire Prigent”. The trophy for the “Best hotel terrace in the world” goes to the “InterContinental Bordeaux-Le Grand Hotel”, that of creativity at “La Cheneaudière Hostellerie & Spa, Colroy-la-Roche”, also awarded for its website created by Wihp. The trophy for “Best hotel group in the world” is awarded to “Evok Collection” which continues to develop with imagination and pugnacity.
- Mexico, a country whose artistic and architectural richness is well known, saw the “Azulik Tulum” receive the trophy for the “Best artistic universe of a hotel in the world”, and the “Sofitel Mexico City Reforma”, the “Grand Prize for the Best Design and hotel architecture in the world”.
- Costa Rica, the last country on this planet with a virgin ecosystem, close to the state of the Earth before the appearance of mankind, is awarded in the category “Best sustainability policy for hotels in the world” with “ORIGINS Lodge Costa Rica by Mantis”.
- The Chalet d’Adrien, in Verbier, by winning the “Grand Prize for Best hotel service in the world” honors his country, Switzerland, whose tradition of service excellency is well established.
- The Bareiss in Germany, which has been cultivating for 3 generations the art of welcoming children, parents and grandparents, receives the trophy for “Best hotel for Children in the world”.
- The “Best hotel pool in the world” is awarded to “Angsana Corfu resort & Spa”, in Greece, the swimming pool which is the central element of the resort.
- Italy sees the Palazzo Fiuggi Wellness Medical Retreat near Rome win the “Grand Prize for Best hotel Spa & Wellness in the world”.
- The Suite of the Majestic Hotel & Spa Barcelona, former apartment of the hotel owners, with a panoramic view of the city, is crowned “Best hotel Suite in the world”.
- The Chinzanso Tokyo, built around the garden with in an area of almost 7 hectares, representing 6 seasons, wins the “Best hotel ambiance in the world” award.
- The “VILLEGIATURE Grand Prize Best charming hotel in the world” is dedicated to Kahani Paradise, near Goa, India.
- The “VILLEGIATURE Grand Prize Best resort in the world” is awarded to a hotel located in the Maldives “Joali Maldives”.
- And Finally, the Prize for the “Grand Prix VILLEGIATURE Best Grand Hotel in the world” goes to South Korea with “Signiel Seoul”.

Any 4 stars, 5 stars hotel or resort and “boutique hotel”,”charming hotel” and serviced residence located in the world can apply till April 30th, 2022 for the Villegiature Awards in the classic categories and in the “Grand Prix” categories.
The results of the 2022 nominations were announced in July.
The winners names of this 20th edition will be revealed in October 2022, exclusively by invitation, in the salons of the Embassy of Mexico in France..
